Sudoku Pop (com.stormtech.sudoku), published by Stormtech · Last updated 2026-09-03
The short version: Sudoku Pop has no accounts and never asks you for personal information. Every puzzle is played on your device. What does leave your phone is anonymous usage analytics (which screens and game modes are used), anonymous crash reports, and the requests that fetch the ads the game shows — all described below. You are never identified by name, email or phone number.
Your game progress (completed levels, stars, best times, daily-challenge streak, in-progress boards) and your settings (theme, sounds, haptics, gameplay toggles) are stored only on your device, using Android's standard app storage. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played, so it can be improved. It records anonymous events such as starting or finishing a puzzle (with the grid size, elapsed time and stars earned), using a hint, opening the share sheet, changing a setting, and the daily-reminder opt-in outcome. Alongside those events, Firebase records standard technical information: a randomly generated app-instance identifier, device model, operating-system version, app version, and an approximate (country-level) location derived from the IP address.
This data contains no personal information and no gameplay content. It is not sold, and not shared with anyone beyond Google acting as the analytics provider. Google processes it under Google's privacy policy; see also how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends an anonymous crash report so the problem can be fixed: the stack trace, the app version, the device model and operating-system version, and the same randomly generated app-instance identifier used by analytics. Crash reports contain no personal information and no gameplay content.
The app shows ads through Google AdMob: an optional rewarded video you can choose to watch for an extra hint once a puzzle's free hints are used up, and an occasional short ad between puzzles. To request and show these ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK sends Google your device's advertising ID together with standard technical information (device model, operating system, app version, approximate location from the IP address, and the ad's own performance data such as whether it was shown or tapped). Google uses this under Google's privacy policy and Google's advertising policies.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before showing personalised ads, and you can change that choice at any time from Settings → Manage ad privacy choices. Everywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation in your device's Google settings.
You can stop all of the above collection entirely by uninstalling the app.
The app does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or files. It uses the advertising-ID permission only for the ads described above.
If you turn on the optional daily reminder in Settings, the app asks for Android's notification permission and schedules a local reminder on your device each evening. These reminders are created and delivered entirely on your device — nothing is sent to any server — and turning the setting off (or denying the permission) cancels them all. The app also uses the boot-completed signal solely so those scheduled reminders survive a phone restart.
The only third party involved is Google: as the analytics, crash-reporting and advertising provider described above, and when the app opens the Google Play Store page if you choose "Rate the app" in Settings or shows the standard Google Play in-app review dialog. All are operated by Google under Google's privacy policy. No data is sold or shared with anyone else.
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, children included. The ads it shows are served by Google under family-friendly content settings.
If a future version of the app changes any of the above (for example, by adding optional online features), this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the "Last updated" date will change.
Questions about this policy: contact the publisher via the support email shown on the app's Google Play listing.
